Update on Proceedings of 2020 Submitted Abstracts
Dear World NCD Congress 2020 Accepted Authors,
After several discussions with leaders of the World NCD Federation and the editorial team of the International Journal of Noncommunicable Diseases, we have decided to postpone publishing the proceedings for the 2020 Congress in order to combine them with the upcoming virtual conference for the World NCD Congress 2021. Therefore, your accepted abstract will be published in late 2021, rather than late 2020.
There were 225 submitted abstracts, of which 195 were accepted based on the recommendations of our peer reviewers. While we too are eager to promote them after reading the fascinating work described in the abstracts, we accept the Federation and the Journal's request that proceedings be timed with the World NCD Congress 2021 virtual conference.
Each one of you spent time and energy on your submissions, and we are already planning ahead for social media promotion to complement the journal issue. We realize this delayed publication timeframe for your abstract may come as a disappointment. If the revised timeframe is too long and you must withdraw, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Stay tuned to the website and newsletter for announcements for a special issue we are co-editing with FASEB BioAdvances about NCD risk factors and for the July 2021 virtual conference details. The theme for the 2021 virtual conference will be "Global Prevention of NCDs in the COVID-19 Era: Where Do We Go From Here?"
